Base Salary
$307k - $427k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and own the technical roadmap for the Database Migration and Modernization portfolio.
- Drive the architecture and design of modernization and migration components.
- Lead cross-organizational and multi-product portfolio initiatives as the technical leader.
- Partner with product management to align investments with Google Data Cloud goals.
- Engage external customers to understand complex modernization needs and deliver impact.
- Inspire a highly technical team of subject-matter experts and industry influencers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience building database systems and delivering them in production.
- 10 years of experience with data platforms, systems engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Expertise in database systems engineering, with emphasis on systems over AI model development.
- Familiarity with database internals including query processing, transaction management, and storage.
- Product sensibility and ability to advocate for product innovations.

- US base pay of $307000-$427000, plus a 30% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
