Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, run, and scale SmartAsset’s website and other web products.
- Develop and migrate frontend and backend services for the content management system.
- Own technical and architectural domains within the web platform.
- Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to complete sprint and triage commitments.
- Participate in technical decisions, document technical work, and improve engineering processes.
- Guide technical designs and ensure successful implementation of the team’s roadmap.
- Contribute to technology, tooling, and process decisions while coaching and mentoring teammates.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience building, maintaining, and scaling highly available and performant web platforms.
- Deep expertise in ReactJS and NodeJS with Java or a similar language.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Git, and complex cloud solution design, preferably AWS.
- Ability to drive project and product success in Agile environments and make strategic technical decisions.
- Experience coaching and mentoring teammates and working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Preferred knowledge of least-privilege principles, application structure, and object-oriented programming patterns.
- Preferred experience in CI/CD environments and with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Preferred familiarity with incident, release, problem, and change management processes.
- Preferred experience using or integrating headless WordPress or other content management tools.
- Must be able to work at a desk for prolonged periods and communicate by phone or video conference.
