Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-enhanced systems using large language models, agentic workflows, and machine learning for security research.
- Build practical, scalable approaches that help researchers navigate large codebases, reason about attack surfaces, and identify subtle vulnerabilities.
- Use raw data and expert behavior to develop machine learning systems that complement fuzzing, static analysis, dynamic analysis, and manual inspection.
- Collaborate with security researchers to validate and challenge innovations during real-world security evaluations.
- Analyze security challenges across Apple’s full stack, including custom silicon, microarchitectural elements, boot ROMs, firmware, kernels, system frameworks, browsers, and applications.
Requirements
- Solid understanding of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithms and evaluation methods.
- Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen for multi-step, tool-augmented workflows.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices, model versioning, CI/CD pipelines, and experiment tracking tools such as MLflow or similar.
- Strong software engineering and programming skills in languages such as Python, C, C++, Swift, or Objective-C.
- Collaborative problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Preferred: experience scaling LLM training and fine-tuning, including pretraining, SFT, and alignment.
- Preferred: enthusiasm for offensive security and familiarity with fuzzing, static analysis, code-analysis tooling, reverse engineering, or binary analysis.
