Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on implementation and architecture of scalable, resilient, and performant Python applications and frameworks.
- Develop solutions for stress testing and regulatory risk initiatives in the market risk domain.
- Design distributed systems, RESTful APIs, integration patterns, and database-backed applications.
- Manage technical planning, governance, delivery, and ownership of development initiatives.
- Collaborate with Risk, Quants, Front Office, DevOps, and Production Support teams.
- Apply code reviews, secure coding practices, automated testing, and software development lifecycle standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize distributed systems and contribute to cloud and containerized deployments.
- Explore and apply AI, generative AI, and agentic development tools and frameworks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on application development experience, primarily with Python.
- Expert proficiency with Python 3.x, Python frameworks, object-oriented programming, software architecture, and distributed system design.
- Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, and advanced SQL.
- Experience designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs and integration patterns.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Git, Bitbucket, and GitHub.
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Unix-based operating systems, and distributed-system performance optimization.
- Experience with Pytest, unittest, test-driven development, OWASP Top 10, and secure application development.
- Experience with quantitative or calculation-intensive Python solutions and exposure to risk methodologies and mathematical or financial modeling.
- Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Copilot, Devin, Claude, Gemini, GPT, agentic AI tools, and generative AI concepts.
- Desirable experience with Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, data warehousing, React, Angular, Vue.js, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, LangGraph, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Bachelor’s or university degree or equivalent experience required; a master’s degree, cloud or industry certifications, banking experience, CFA, or FRM certification is preferred.
- Strong communication, analytical, systems-thinking, prioritization, ownership, and collaboration skills are required.

- Salary range of $176,720.00–$265,080.00, excluding discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
