Base Salary
$100k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services for Kalepa’s Core Backend team
- Develop data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops around fragmented insurance data
- Own business-critical infrastructure and improve data completeness, decision transparency, and product value
- Experiment, measure results, and iterate on unresolved technical problems
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving
- Experience with Python or a strong background in another object-oriented language
- Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments
- Comfort with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Experience with LLMs or generative AI and distributed systems is a bonus
- Ability to take ownership, drive projects to completion with minimal oversight, and communicate proactively
