  • Develop low-level drivers, hardware abstraction layers, system services, and interfaces for sensors, actuators, ECUs, and communication buses.
  • Ensure deterministic execution across real-time and near-real-time control and safety-critical paths.
  • Implement error handling, watchdogs, fail-safe mechanisms, telemetry, logging, and embedded debugging capabilities.
  • Lead firmware bring-up for new hardware and diagnose issues across firmware, hardware, and system integration boundaries.
  • Optimize timing, memory usage, and CPU utilization while balancing performance, robustness, and maintainability.
  • Support HIL testing, regression testing, field validation, firmware updates, and production deployment.
  • Mentor engineers and improve firmware standards, development workflows, testing frameworks, and reliability practices.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in firmware or embedded-systems development.
  • Strong C++ experience in embedded or systems-programming environments.
  • Experience developing firmware for microcontrollers or embedded Linux systems.
  • Experience with hardware interfaces and CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, and Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware and software boundaries.
  • Experience designing reliable, safe systems for real-world deployment and delivering production-quality firmware in cross-functional environments.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with safety-critical or real-time embedded systems, robotics, autonomy, heavy equipment, RTOS or real-time scheduling, hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, OTA or bootloader-based updates, embedded observability, HIL testing, validation frameworks, hardware test automation, or high-reliability environments.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) and life insurance.
  • Opportunity to build firmware controlling autonomous heavy machinery in real-world environments.
