Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Ubuntu Linux servers across AWS EC2 and on-premises Proxmox VE environments.
- Manage Docker and Docker Compose workloads, GitLab, BookStack, development VM fleets, and LiteLLM infrastructure.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and GitOps workflows using Terraform, Ansible, and Git.
- Implement configuration management, provisioning scripts, and version-controlled infrastructure standards.
- Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform health and performance.
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvements.
- Perform system patching, security hardening, backup and restore operations, and performance tuning.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, change logs, documentation, and architecture diagrams.
- Support AI/ML inference environments, model-serving infrastructure, or inference proxies as needed.
- Participate in planned weekend or late-night maintenance windows.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of IT infrastructure or systems administration experience, including at least 3 years focused on Linux Ubuntu production environments.
- Proficiency with Linux CLI system management, process control, systemd, cron, ps, top, package management, and log analysis.
- Hands-on Docker and Docker Compose experience in staging or production environments.
- Practical Terraform, Ansible, and Git experience for Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and version control.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms; GitLab CI/CD is preferred, with Jenkins or GitHub Actions also acceptable.
- Understanding of AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, security groups, and basic networking.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog and with incident response workflows.
- Professional written and verbal proficiency in English or Japanese, plus basic conversational skills in the other language.
- Availability for planned weekend or late-night maintenance windows.
- Bilingual English and Japanese proficiency is desirable.
- Kubernetes, Helm, container orchestration, SRE practices, Proxmox VE administration, AI/LLM infrastructure, model serving, inference proxies, leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience is desirable.
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or SysOps/DevOps Professional certification is desirable.
