Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve software and platform capabilities for customers and colleagues.
- Build and manage scalable, secure cloud-native delivery platforms, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines.
- Administer OpenShift and Kubernetes environments, including deployments, troubleshooting, scaling, configuration, secrets, and basic networking.
- Develop and operate GitLab build, test, release, approval, quality-gate, automation, and artifact-management workflows.
- Implement release automation, environment management, deployment strategies, and operational-readiness practices.
- Debug JVM applications, interpret logs, support builds, and collaborate on code-level diagnosis.
- Troubleshoot Kafka topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and offsets from an operational perspective.
- Apply observability, monitoring, secure coding, vulnerability management, secrets management, auditability, change governance, and risk controls.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, development teams, and platform teams to deliver and integrate solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, technical communities, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Lead complex assignments, influence stakeholders, guide team members, and support policy, governance, and operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- Experience administering OpenShift and Kubernetes and supporting application operations.
- Experience with GitLab DevOps and delivery pipeline workflows.
- Strong DevOps fundamentals, including release automation, environment management, deployment strategies, and operational readiness.
- Java fundamentals, including debugging JVM applications, interpreting logs, supporting builds, and diagnosing code-level issues; hands-on coding exposure is preferred.
- Kafka fundamentals, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, offsets, and operational troubleshooting.
- Operational experience with Oracle, including connectivity, runtime troubleshooting, performance awareness, and deployment impacts, is highly valued.
- Understanding of observability and monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and eSaaS/platform monitoring is valued.
- Working knowledge of JIRA and Agile delivery practices is valued.
- Understanding of API engineering concepts, including REST, security patterns, versioning, and gateway/integration basics.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning, secrets management, auditability, change governance, and other security and control practices.
- Ability to manage risk, communicate complex information, influence stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
