Responsibilities
- Develop forensic applications for artifact extraction, file-system parsing, memory analysis, and mobile-device parsing.
- Engineer automation frameworks to improve investigative efficiency and evidentiary processing.
- Perform reverse engineering and binary analysis for forensic tool development.
- Ensure forensic tools meet evidentiary standards and validation requirements.
- Integrate forensic tooling into enterprise systems and investigative platforms.
- Produce technical documentation, design artifacts, and validation reports.
- Develop custom capabilities in support of investigators and forensic analysts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience focused on digital forensics or investigative tooling.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Experience developing enterprise-grade forensic applications that meet evidentiary requirements.
- Knowledge of operating-system internals, reverse engineering, binary analysis, and scripting or automation.
- Familiarity with EnCase, AXIOM, X-Ways, and Cellebrite.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Eligibility for a Secret clearance and DHS Entry on Duty suitability required to begin support.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Forensic certifications such as GCFE, GASF, CFCE, or EnCE are beneficial.
- Experience with IDA Pro, Ghidra, radare2, or similar tools is preferred.
- Experience developing plugins or forensic-tool extensions is preferred.
- Active DHS EOD suitability is preferred.
