Base Salary
$167k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build test software for device bring-up, characterization, and production test across bench and ATE environments.
- Develop and maintain test methods, test flows, and instrument-control code.
- Translate device physics and test requirements into reliable, repeatable automation software with hardware and characterization engineers.
- Build and maintain data logging and results pipelines for metric computation, yield analysis, and production handoff.
- Debug integration issues across the device under test, fixtures, instruments, and test code.
- Support test program releases to internal test cells and, at senior levels, external test facilities.
- Own test software architecture for a product line and determine how frameworks scale across projects and teams.
- Mentor engineers and drive technical decisions with hardware, characterization, and manufacturing teams.
- Work hands-on in the lab and communicate daily on progress and blockers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in hardware test software, ATE systems, or test architecture, ideally in semiconductor or photonics.
- Track record of owning test software architecture for a product line.
- Deep hands-on experience with ATE test method or test flow development and/or embedded test frameworks for hardware test automation.
- Fluency with instrumentation automation using SCPI/VISA or equivalent, at a level where it can be taught to others.
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-functional technical decisions.
- Ability to explain how an automation project was scoped, planned, implemented, and validated end to end.
- Ability to read and reason about embedded software in C/C++, controls, or firmware and co-develop with hardware engineers.
- A master’s degree or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience may qualify.
- Experience integrating ATE with wafer-level hardware such as probers or handlers is preferred.
- Experience with photonic test instrumentation is preferred.
