Responsibilities
- Define component boundaries, requirements, acceptance criteria, non-functional requirements, support expectations, and estimates with product, UX, business, architecture, and engineering partners.
- Design and implement accessible, responsive UI components with secure sessions and loading, error, empty, streaming, review, and approval states.
- Build APIs, services, background jobs, data models, queries, migrations, queues, events, and integrations using versioned contracts, validation, authorization, retries, and failure semantics.
- Integrate approved model inference, LLMs, embeddings, vector search, RAG, structured output, agent tools, BI, and workflow automation with human control and evaluation.
- Implement and use unit, integration, API, contract, UI, accessibility, performance, security, data, and AI-evaluation tests.
- Use cloud services, containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, feature flags, monitoring, rollback, and incident practices to release and operate software.
- Define and maintain indicators for availability, latency, errors, frontend behavior, database performance, data freshness, AI quality, user experience, operating cost, and support health.
- Apply identity, least privilege, OWASP, privacy, Responsible AI, accessibility, validation, traceability, and GxP controls; contribute reusable components and guide associate engineers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree and 4–6 years of Computer Science, IT, or related field experience; or bachelor’s degree and 6–8 years; or diploma and 9–10 years.
- Demonstrated ownership of at least one production frontend, backend, API, data, integration, automation, or AI-enabled component.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, at least one backend language such as Python, Java, C#, or Node.js, and SQL.
- Ability to design, build, release, monitor, diagnose, and maintain a defined production slice with limited guidance.
- Experience with full-stack product engineering, backend and distributed systems, APIs, data, testing, cloud and lifecycle reliability, security, Responsible AI, and GxP practices.
- Preferred experience includes Next.js, GraphQL, WebSocket, Kafka, durable workflows, stream processing, API gateways, graph or vector stores, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, model-serving APIs, RAG evaluation, agent orchestration, AWS, Databricks, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, CloudWatch, feature management, or regulated environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, technical judgment, production follow-through, and junior-engineer guidance skills.
