Responsibilities
- Design and improve multi-region AWS data infrastructure with Architecture, Product Engineering, and Security teams.
- Build automated, scalable, resilient, and self-service infrastructure provisioning using Crossplane and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Operate streaming, database, search, vector, in-memory, and caching systems in production.
- Plan and implement disaster recovery and cross-region replication with clear RPO and RTO targets.
- Monitor availability, performance, and observability with Datadog and respond to incidents through remediation and post-mortems.
- Participate in the shared on-call rotation and collaborate with product and feature teams to shape the platform.
Requirements
- Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Software, DevOps, Platform, or Site Reliability Engineer.
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on AWS experience across multiple regions, including Terraform or OpenTofu and GitHub Actions or GitOps/Flux pipelines.
- Production experience running Kubernetes and Amazon EKS on Linux with Docker containers, including upgrades and patching.
- Confidence programming in Go and/or Python.
- Strong communication, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in English.
- Preferred experience with Apache Kafka/AWS MSK, distributed and streaming systems, Amazon Aurora, ClickHouse, MongoDB, database operators on EKS, Crossplane, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, Redis, Amazon ElastiCache, disaster recovery, and cross-region replication.
