Responsibilities
- Lead modernization of legacy development, build, and release processes from PVCS, ANT, and manual deployments to GitHub-based source control and automated release workflows.
- Design and implement GitHub Actions, Artifactory-driven promotion strategies, DevSecOps controls, and standardized deployment frameworks.
- Analyze, reverse engineer, and document legacy applications and build processes to support migration planning and technical debt reduction.
- Develop automation using Python, Shell, PowerShell, and related technologies to eliminate manual operational work.
- Partner with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and operations teams to onboard applications into enterprise GitHub, SonarQube, DevSecOps, and governance frameworks.
- Modernize application packaging, deployment, and environment promotion through artifact-driven release management and version-controlled standards.
- Support migration of legacy interfaces and applications to React-based web applications, API-enabled designs, and container-ready deployment models.
- Promote software quality through automated testing, release validation, code review, security scanning, and development standards.
- Assist with tool upgrades, secrets management improvements, DevSecOps integration, and application platform transformation.
- Respond to and troubleshoot production issues promptly as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field.
- At least 7 years of hands-on configuration management experience.
- At least 5 years of experience with GitHub, build and release engineering, Artifactory, CI/CD, and enterprise software modernization.
- Proficiency with UNIX/Linux automation, including csh, bash, and Python, and Windows automation, including Batch, CMD, and PowerShell.
- Knowledge of multiple development languages, including C, C++, and/or Java.
- Experience with ANT, Make, MSBuild, Maven, application packaging, DevSecOps, and modern deployment architectures.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and stored procedures.
- Strong coding, design, debugging, application issue diagnosis, critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience with microservices and component-based architectures is a plus.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies and delivery in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot is a plus.
