Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and independently or collaboratively release Java-based software features and API services.
- Build and maintain scalable and secure backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design cloud-native applications using Azure or AWS and provision infrastructure with Terraform or an equivalent tool.
- Package applications with Docker, orchestrate them with Kubernetes, and optimize Azure Pipelines or GitLab Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- Implement event-based communication and batch processing using supported messaging and batch technologies.
- Resolve incidents, participate in weekly guard duty for the assigned team, and communicate with Functional Analysts.
- Propose modern technologies, architectures, and design patterns to improve performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a Java Developer role, preferably in the Energy or Utilities sector.
- Hands-on experience with Java EE, modern Java, Spring Boot, Java microservices, APIs, and web services.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure or another major cloud provider in a cloud-native setup.
- Experience with modern message brokers such as AWS SQS/SNS, Azure Service Bus, or Apache Kafka, plus Spring Batch.
- JUnit experience at minimum and experience with a modern relational database.
- Experience with Azure Pipelines or GitLab Actions.
- Knowledge of ELK, ArgoCD, Keycloak, Kong, or JFrog is a plus.
- Fluency in French or Dutch alongside excellent English comprehension.
- Strong technology curiosity, initiative, quality focus, collaboration, communication, openness to feedback, and comfort working in a hybrid environment.
