Responsibilities
- Extend, evolve, and maintain the Verse compiler toolchain, transactional memory runtime, and virtual machine.
- Implement language features, add platform support, and integrate Verse with Unreal Engine content, build, and cooking pipelines.
- Optimize performance, memory usage, and iteration times across the Verse toolchain, runtime, and Unreal Engine/Verse boundary.
- Establish test workflows to validate improvements and prevent regressions.
- Design and maintain the scripting interface to Unreal Engine.
- Collaborate with Verse language engineers, Unreal Engine engineering teams, and language consumers.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of C++17 or later.
- Experience with compiler or toolchain development, such as compiler internals, virtual machine design, Clang/LLVM, or linker and platform ABI specifics.
- Experience developing and optimizing large codebases while balancing usability, performance, and power.
- Strong ability to reason about large, interconnected systems.
- Solid grounding in software engineering principles, including API design.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and deliver practical solutions.
- Experience with Unreal Engine integration is a plus.
