Base Salary
$145k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption.
- Architect custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows.
- Design application patterns that connect Maybern's platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes.
- Build evaluation, control, and validation frameworks for high-stakes outputs.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers across the Forward Deployed Engineering team.
- Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure.
- Help define standards, technical direction, and operating practices for the function.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, or forward-deployed technical work.
- Strong record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives.
- Deep strength in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture.
- Strong applied AI or ML experience with attention to evaluation and reliability.
- Deep quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong taste in balancing speed, rigor, and trust in high-stakes environments.
