Responsibilities

  • Own the management and ongoing maintenance of Kubernetes platforms.
  • Collaborate with development squads to identify requirements for building and deploying complex applications.
  • Design and implement automated deployment and configuration of cloud workloads in AWS.
  • Develop, advise on, and troubleshoot monitoring and management frameworks for cloud-resident workloads.
  • Help engineering teams architect scalable, manageable, and observable cloud-native applications.
  • Troubleshoot environment and configuration issues, analyze logs and monitoring data, and communicate potential risks.
  • Manage and communicate the state, versioning, and availability of development, QA, and other environments.
  • Maintain and optimize shared tools for branching, tagging, building, releasing, and reporting.
  • Provide weekend on-call support approximately once per month.
  • Mentor and assist engineering teams in building, managing, and monitoring high-performance cloud applications.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes, including EKS, Docker, or Rancher.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages for automation.
  • Proficiency with Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and CentOS.
  • Deep understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery principles.
  • Broad AWS knowledge, including CloudFormation, EC2, ECS, and EKS.
  • Expert use of Git and GitHub in a distributed team environment.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and alerting tools such as PagerDuty, Zabbix, and LogicMonitor.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions internally and externally.
  • CKA, AWS Solutions Architect, or AWS SysOps Administration certification is desirable.
  • Experience with Ansible is desirable.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation or Terraform is desirable.
