Responsibilities
- Manage, build, and maintain the cloud-based MySQL database infrastructure.
- Focus on automation to reduce operational toil.
- Collaborate with Engineering and SRE teams for reliable database integration.
- Monitor MySQL database metrics to meet performance and reliability objectives.
- Identify operational toil and implement automation processes.
- Provide database support for migrations, query performance, and schema improvements.
- Assist with performance troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with relational database systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, including administration and performance tuning.
- 1+ years in a DBRE or database-focused engineering role.
- Experience in cloud environments, preferably Azure.
- Coding and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, or SQL.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Experience managing large database fleets and VLDBs.
