Base Salary
$188k - $282k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with key employees across the organization.
- Develop threat scenarios and identify detection opportunities using offensive security expertise.
- Assess logs for gaps and implement additional logging as needed.
- Build data pipelines to process increasing data volumes and enrich observability.
- Lead incident response when needed.
- Develop and maintain effective detection rules in collaboration with other Detection & Response Engineers.
- Participate in tabletop and red-team exercises to evaluate security efficacy.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to find weaknesses such as privilege escalation in real-world corporate networks, cloud environments, or applications.
- Hands-on experience responding to security incidents.
- Strong understanding of computer networks, operating systems, and cryptographic protocols.
- At least 4 years of experience in Security, Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience with ClickHouse or similar data warehouses is preferred.
- Red-team experience is preferred.
- Experience serving as an incident commander or managing security incidents or other disasters is preferred.
- Experience at a small company, independent division of a larger company, or hyper-growth startup is preferred.
