Base Salary
$144k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve embedded build infrastructure and build tool pipelines.
- Administer build systems, machines, tools, and physical and virtual Windows and Linux environments.
- Enable Bazel and CMake builds for new hardware and software targets.
- Monitor and resolve emake build issues, including long build times and machine failures.
- Onboard engineers and configure infrastructure for new hires and replacement systems.
- Provide on-call support for critical applications as required.
- Develop and support infrastructure management, operations, monitoring, and health reporting.
- Enhance configuration, deployment, and monitoring frameworks with IT engineers.
- Optimize make files and build scripts.
- Deploy and manage build pipelines using Ansible, Jenkins, BitBucket, and GitLab CI.
- Gather requirements, document architecture, follow formal design processes, and recommend system improvements.
- Improve system performance, high availability, scalability, and self-healing infrastructure capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of embedded build infrastructure management, systems/infrastructure, or related engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience enabling Bazel builds for new hardware targets and maintaining embedded software infrastructure.
- Experience with observability tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fluent Bit, and Logstash.
- Proficiency in Batch, Python, and Matlab scripting, including automation of repetitive tasks.
- Ability to use Bash across WSL, Linux, Cygwin, and Windows.
- Experience with Git or SVN version control systems.
- Experience with embedded toolsets, cross-compiler toolchains, GNU GCC, CMake, EMake, and Make.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as Jenkins and BitBucket.
- Troubleshooting experience with Windows and Linux diagnostic tools, including Wireshark, SMB, pdb, strace, tcpdump, and dbg.
- Experience maintaining infrastructure on Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical major, or commensurate experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 5+ years of DevOps experience, strong C/C++ and Python programming skills, Perl knowledge, continuous integration administration, TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS knowledge, and familiarity with embedded Linux and RTOS.
- Strong communication, teamwork, autonomous decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
