Base Salary
$144k - $243k/yr
Responsibilities
- Automate and operate embedded build infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and improve build systems, machines, compiler toolchains, and build pipelines.
- Set up Windows and Linux physical and virtual machines for emake builds and onboard engineers.
- Enable Bazel and CMake builds for new hardware and software targets.
- Deploy and manage CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, Jenkins, BitBucket, and GitLab CI.
- Monitor build infrastructure, resolve performance issues, and establish health reporting for self-healing systems.
- Enhance configuration, deployment, and monitoring frameworks with IT engineers.
- Optimize make files and build scripts and improve system availability, performance, and scalability.
- Provide on-call support for critical applications and collaborate with developers, DBAs, QA, project managers, and internal customers.
- Gather requirements and document architecture using formal specifications, data flow diagrams, and related design techniques.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of embedded build infrastructure management, systems/infrastructure, or related engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience enabling Bazel builds for new hardware targets in embedded software infrastructure.
- Experience with observability tools such as Elasticsearch, Kibana, Fluent Bit, and Logstash.
- Proficiency in Batch, Python, and MATLAB scripting, including scripting for task automation.
- Ability to use Bash across WSL, Linux, Cygwin, and Windows.
- Experience with Git or SVN version control systems.
- Experience with embedded toolsets, cross-compiler toolchains, GNU GCC, CMake, emake, and Make.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as Jenkins and BitBucket.
- Technical troubleshooting experience with Windows and Linux diagnostic tools.
- Experience maintaining infrastructure on Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical major, or commensurate experience.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of DevOps experience in Linux and Windows environments.
- Preferred: strong C/C++ and Python programming skills, Perl knowledge, continuous integration administration experience, TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS knowledge, and familiarity with embedded Linux and RTOS.
- The position is based in Sunnyvale, California and requires approximately 10% travel.
