Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of services from architecture and design through deployment, operations, and continuous optimization.
- Analyze platform-level ITSM performance and establish feedback loops that influence engineering roadmaps and improve resiliency.
- Define production readiness standards, operational design reviews, capacity planning, and launch governance.
- Develop monitoring frameworks for availability, latency, and system health using metrics and telemetry.
- Drive automation-first practices to reduce manual toil and improve deployment velocity and reliability.
- Lead the design and governance of CI/CD pipelines with validation, operational gates, and consistent best practices.
- Lead incident response, mitigation, stakeholder communication, and blameless postmortems.
- Collaborate across distributed global teams and mentor junior engineers while promoting engineering best practices.
- Support service-level management and automation for Mastercard’s critical security services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure, or DevOps, including hands-on technical expertise and early leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise platforms, Linux/UNIX systems, operating systems, and database environments including Oracle/SQL and DBA work.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, automation, deployment pipelines, and operational improvements.
- Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, Go, C/C++, Perl, or Ruby for automation or systems work.
- Foundation in security and/or enterprise monitoring environments, including coding and system-level design exposure.
- Experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Strong program management experience leading large-scale cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution.
- Experience working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize initiatives and deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and cloud-native architectures and operational practices.
- Ability to evaluate processes, challenge the status quo, and identify improvements in efficiency, scalability, and business impact.
