Base Salary
$230k - $390k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build real-time card capture that intercepts keypad and spoken digits in live audio streams while keeping plaintext card numbers away from the LLM.
- Extend the tokenization platform so agents use short-lived tokens while payment gateways receive the underlying card values only when needed.
- Own the payments egress control plane, including approved and versioned destinations enforced below the application layer.
- Implement correct payment primitives, including at-most-once actions, validated amounts and items, and monitoring that compares agent statements with actual payment outcomes.
- Build deterministic card-data detection, a unified payments API, gateway middleware, and self-serve payment support across Agent Studio, the Agent SDK, and Ghostwriter.
- Expand tokenization into a privacy vault for personally identifiable information and support customer-cloud and single-tenant deployments.
- Design, ship, operate, and provide on-call support for high-reliability production systems.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating backend, platform, or infrastructure systems in production.
- Fluency in a systems language, particularly Go, and experience owning critical systems end to end.
- Strong security instincts involving blast radius, least privilege, compromise containment, and prevention of unsafe states.
- Experience reasoning about retries, idempotency, at-most-once behavior, timeouts, and ambiguous external-system outcomes.
- Ability to work with broad ownership on a small team and communicate designs and risks to engineers and non-engineers.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred experience includes real-time or streaming systems, voice or telephony, applied cryptography, key management, network isolation, egress control, cloud security, APIs, SDKs, self-serve developer platforms, customer-owned clouds, single-tenant environments, customer-facing technical work, technical direction, payments, fintech, healthcare, or identity.
