Base Salary
$200k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead and steward engineering best practices while mentoring other engineers.
- Own defined problems independently from design through implementation and production.
- Build and extend authentication, authorization, RBAC, and OAuth/OIDC identity and access management capabilities.
- Improve AWS and cloud infrastructure, including security posture, configuration, and operational guardrails.
- Improve performance, security, and optimization for high-volume transactional databases.
- Harden APIs, services, and distributed systems against failure and abuse.
- Participate in incident response and remediation, address root causes, and improve observability.
- Partner with the Security/CISO team to design and ship durable engineering fixes.
- Analyze complex problems across multiple user personas and workflows.
- Build and scale performant, secure, customer-centric services and user-facing web applications.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience building precise and scalable distributed systems.
- Ability to own well-defined problems end to end and drive them to production independently.
- Primarily backend engineering experience with comfort working across the stack.
- Track record of building and shipping work involving security, scale, or infrastructure rather than only reviewing it.
- Ideally, a B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a similar Engineering or Mathematics field.
- Ability to learn and work with modern technology stacks including Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Postgres, Kubernetes, React.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
- Fintech, payments, or experience in security-sensitive and highly regulated environments is a plus.
- Strong ownership, communication, resilience, technical judgment, and creative problem-solving abilities.
