Base Salary
$185k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own complex MVR features from ideation and technical design through implementation, release, and ongoing operation.
- Define technical direction and architectural improvements for reliable, scalable MVR systems.
- Design and maintain high-performance backend services supporting MVR data ordering, retrieval, processing, normalization, and reporting.
- Integrate external data providers and build resilient pipelines for inconsistent, delayed, or incomplete data.
- Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and systemic reliability improvements.
- Partner with Product, Data Supply Chain, Supply Chain Operations, and Business Operations on platform strategy and customer needs.
- Mentor engineers and raise standards for code quality, design reviews, and engineering practices.
- Use AI-assisted tools, models, and assistants as part of the engineering workflow.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building scalable backend systems.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language and deep understanding of relational databases, ORMs, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience designing and maintaining reliable distributed systems, including microservices, CI/CD, and asynchronous or event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating external data providers or third-party APIs and handling inconsistent, delayed, or incomplete data accurately and resiliently.
- Ability to reason about end-to-end platforms, evaluate architectural trade-offs, and design for changing data sources, scale, and product requirements.
- Demonstrated ownership of work and ability to communicate technical decisions to engineering and non-engineering partners.
- Strong bias for action, resilience through ambiguity, and commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes.
