Responsibilities
- Lead the hands-on architecture and implementation of scalable, highly available, resilient, and performant Python applications and frameworks.
- Design software platforms for high-throughput data computation, processing, and quantitative calculations.
- Design, develop, and secure RESTful APIs, integration patterns, database schemas, and distributed systems.
- Apply enterprise architecture standards, code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and secure coding practices.
- Own technical initiatives including planning, forecasting, project tracking, governance, change management, and team-level technology budgets.
- Collaborate with Risk Managers, Risk Analytics, Senior Quants, Front Office, DevOps, Production Support, global teams, and external partners.
- Communicate technical and delivery matters clearly to development teams, stakeholders, and senior business executives.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on application development experience focused primarily on Python, data structures, and algorithms.
- Expert Python 3.x skills with knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, advanced computation libraries, and design patterns.
- Advanced experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, distributed systems, relational and NoSQL databases, SQL optimization, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and system-level development.
- Experience with AWS or IBM Symphony Grid, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD systems, automated testing, Git, and secure coding principles including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience developing quantitative or calculation-intensive Python solutions using NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
- Understanding of market risk, stress testing, Value at Risk, sensitivities, mathematical modeling, and delivery of regulatory risk projects.
- Practical exposure to AI/ML tools, GitHub Copilot, Devin, Claude, Gemini, GPT, agentic AI, generative AI, and agentic frameworks.
- Strong ownership, analytical, systems-thinking, communication, design-thinking, adaptability, and Agile/Scrum skills.
- Banking or financial-services experience in pricing, valuation, or risk management systems is preferred.
- Relevant AWS, Azure, GCP, industry, CFA, or FRM certifications are preferred.
