Responsibilities
- Analyze Arm architecture features and identify opportunities for their use in language runtimes and compilers.
- Work with architects to suggest or improve architecture proposals.
- Own and conduct specific technical investigations with guidance where appropriate.
- Collaborate across Arm to improve the architecture and ensure it is effectively used.
- Contribute to open-source software projects and engage with open-source communities.
- Develop internal documentation and external blog posts communicating technical findings.
- Help develop tooling and automation supporting investigations and runtime work.
Requirements
- Experience working on language runtimes, compilers, or similar technologies.
- Strong programming skills in at least one of C, C++, or Rust.
- Familiarity with computer architecture and microarchitecture concepts such as cache hierarchies and CPU pipelines, preferably involving AArch64.
- A flexible, problem-solving approach and commitment to expanding technical knowledge.
- Preferred experience includes proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, Rust, or WebAssembly.
- Preferred experience includes assembly language and low-level AArch64 development.
- Preferred experience includes Linux performance analysis tools and system-level performance tuning.
- Preferred experience includes build systems, CI, and open-source contributions.
