Responsibilities
- Analyze benchmarks and workloads to identify software and hardware optimization opportunities and CPU performance limitations.
- Collaborate with software, compiler, operating system, application, CPU design, modeling, and architecture teams to implement improvements and identify bottlenecks.
- Write or extract performance tests from existing software applications and run them on C/C++ models, emulators, laptops, smartphones, servers, and other devices.
- Drive technical activities and present technical results to business teams and partners.
- Develop the roadmap for Arm’s core interconnect and control subsystems and ensure strategic alignment and technical validation across markets.
- Own requirement specifications and roadmap rigor to ensure subsystem coherence across product generations.
Requirements
- University or engineering-school graduation in computer science, mathematics, electronic/electrical engineering, or a related science.
- Several years of experience in software, hardware, or mathematics.
- Proven software programming experience alongside technical management experience.
- Strong software development experience in areas such as HPC, machine learning, distributed applications, web technologies, mobile applications, databases, or multimedia is preferred.
- Strong development skills in one or more high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Rust are preferred.
- Experience with software performance analysis on Android, Windows, and Linux, including operating-system settings and single-threaded versus multithreaded performance, is preferred.
- Experience with CPU performance analysis methodologies and tools such as PMU-based analysis, TDA, Linux perf, Intel VTune, Android simpleperf, or Perfetto is preferred.
- Experience with AArch64 assembly language programming and knowledge of CPU architecture and microarchitecture techniques such as branch prediction and prefetching are preferred.
- Ability to develop and adapt experimental application code to test new architectures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
