Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical architecture and delivery of an Air Force real-time data platform built on Google Cloud.
  • Design and guide implementation of scalable, secure, maintainable cloud architectures and distributed systems.
  • Provide expertise in cloud cybersecurity, architecture, networking, system design, authentication, authorization, and service integrations.
  • Support engineering teams in designing, building, and troubleshooting cloud-native and containerized applications.
  • Design and support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows for multiple services.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver solutions.
  • Produce technical documentation covering architecture decisions, system design, and platform configurations.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and contribute to implementation when needed.
  • Work directly with client stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure solutions meet mission needs and timelines.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in a technical leadership or architecture role.
  • Experience designing and building enterprise cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with Python and strong programming ability in a typed language such as Java, Kotlin, or C#.
  • Strong experience working in containerized environments and operating cloud-based and distributed systems.
  • Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
  • Experience designing and operating event-driven or asynchronous systems.
  • Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols such as SAML and OAuth.
  • Understanding of IoT components and concepts.
  • Professional-level cloud architecture certification, preferably Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of start date.
  • DoW 8140 IAT-compliant certification such as CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain it within six months of start date.
  • Experience with identity and access management tools such as Keycloak is preferred.
  • Experience with AI/ML platforms such as Vertex AI is preferred.
  • Database design and development experience is preferred.
  • Experience designing and operating data or ETL/ELT pipelines is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Linux administration especially RHEL, API gateways or API management platforms such as Apigee, and U.S. Federal Government or DoW programs is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders, work independently with clients, and collaborate with engineering teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoW clearance with TS/SCI eligibility are required.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field is preferred.
