Base Salary
$135k - $169k/yr
Responsibilities
- Implement Android features that improve Crunchyroll’s subscription, add-on, and streaming experiences.
- Own feature development with emphasis on code quality, performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and Program Management on technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical planning, on-call support, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, reliability issues, and long-term engineering toil.
- Contribute to maintainable Android architecture and improved development efficiency.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience developing Android applications using Kotlin.
- Hands-on experience building production applications with Jetpack libraries such as Compose.
- Working knowledge of testing frameworks such as Espresso and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Familiarity with Android architecture patterns and maintainable, scalable codebases.
- Experience contributing to consumer-facing mobile applications at scale; multimedia or streaming experience is preferred.
- Ability to debug complex issues and navigate large, modular codebases using established engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of Git workflows and familiarity with modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams and participating in on-call rotations.
- Experience using agentic tools to improve development efficiency.
