Responsibilities
- Define the long-term detection engineering strategy, technical roadmap, and standardized development lifecycle.
- Architect, develop, maintain, and optimize high-fidelity SOC detection rules aligned with MITRE ATT&CK and Sigma.
- Analyze cyber threat intelligence and translate attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures into resilient detection logic.
- Drive Detection-as-Code initiatives and engineer automated response playbooks for incident response.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues and mentor junior detection engineers and SOC analysts.
- Collaborate with Incident Response and SOC teams to deploy context-rich detections that support rapid threat containment.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience developing SOC use cases and detection logic, including leadership or mentorship experience.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with automation frameworks.
- Deep expertise in Windows and Linux operating systems, OS internals, system logging, and telemetry analysis.
- Practical experience with red teaming, penetration testing, or an offensive security mindset.
- Advanced knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and Detection-as-Code concepts.
- Strong communication, empathy, collaboration, and cross-functional technical leadership skills.
