Sr. Software Engineer (Frontend) - Access Management

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance frontend software for Cerby’s SaaS access-management platform.
  • Build and maintain React and Next.js applications, reusable component libraries, design systems, and responsive accessible UI components.
  • Design, consume, and optimize REST APIs with efficient data-fetching strategies.
  • Own frontend security practices, including PNPM workspace governance, CVE auditing, patching SLAs, and dependency supply-chain risk management.
  • Identify and mitigate frontend vulnerabilities involving XSS, CSRF, CORS, and content security policies.
  • Write unit, integration, and component tests and support reliable delivery through production release.
  • Instrument distributed systems with telemetry, metrics, traces, and logs, using observability tools such as OpenTelemetry and Datadog.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor engineers, share knowledge, and promote engineering and AI-assisted development best practices.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineering managers, UX designers, and engineers in a remote-first environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on building and scaling SaaS applications.
  • Experience developing and maintaining distributed applications and working in a high-performance startup environment.
  • Expertise in browser APIs, client-side storage such as localStorage and IndexedDB, networking APIs such as fetch and XMLHttpRequest, and frontend performance optimization.
  • Strong experience building scalable React applications with Next.js for single-page applications.
  • Proficiency with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and utility-first frameworks such as TailwindCSS.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS.
  • Experience applying frontend security best practices and implementing protections such as Content Security Policy.
  • Experience designing responsive, maintainable, and accessible UI components, including WCAG guidelines, ARIA roles, and screen-reader optimization.
  • Experience building and maintaining component libraries aligned with brand and accessibility standards.
  • Experience architecting distributed, fault-tolerant, highly available, and resilient systems.
  • Experience with testing, observability, software delivery, and production releases; OpenTelemetry and Datadog experience is a plus.
  • Prior mentoring experience and experience conducting security-first code reviews.
  • Security compliance, encryption and key management, cybersecurity, or identity and access management experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, product judgment, adaptability, and interest in mentoring and continuous learning.
