Responsibilities
- Architect and develop software solutions across the full stack for internal tools and trading dashboards.
- Build and maintain frontend applications and backend services that support Alpaca’s product features and user experience.
- Contribute to API design and deliver end-to-end product features from design through deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on backend systems and infrastructure supporting financial markets.
- Own high-visibility features and projects and influence the company’s technical strategy.
- Mentor peers and promote continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with a modern systems programming language such as Golang, C++, or Rust.
- At least 3 years of frontend development experience with TypeScript and React.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with HTML and CSS frameworks such as TailwindCSS.
- Experience building user-facing features end to end.
- Experience with REST APIs and WebSockets best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and appreciation for design aesthetics.
- Preferred qualifications include algorithmic trading experience, major cloud platform experience, especially GCP, financial markets knowledge, startup experience, and remote-work experience.
