Responsibilities
- Assist with designing, deploying, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure and networking resources.
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar tools.
- Containerize applications with Docker and support Kubernetes and Amazon EKS cluster operations.
- Write and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code under senior guidance.
- Administer Linux-based servers, including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Amazon Linux.
- Configure and manage Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer.
- Support MySQL and MongoDB administration, backups, and basic troubleshooting.
- Write Bash and Python automation scripts for routine operational tasks.
- Assist with monitoring, logging, alerting, and AI-assisted DevOps automation.
- Manage Git repositories, branching strategies, merge requests, and conflict resolution.
- Troubleshoot networking issues across VPCs and peered connections while following infrastructure security best practices.
Requirements
- Three years of hands-on DevOps or infrastructure experience.
- Experience with AWS EC2, AMIs, VPCs, subnets, route tables, NACLs, security groups, VPC peering, DNS, Route 53, Elastic IPs, NAT and Internet Gateways, load balancers, IAM, S3, EBS, and CloudWatch.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Dockerfiles, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, deployments, services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, Ingress, and preferably Amazon EKS.
- Ability to write basic Terraform modules and understand Terraform state management, providers, and version-controlled infrastructure workflows.
- Strong Linux administration skills across Ubuntu, CentOS, and Amazon Linux, along with Bash and Python scripting experience.
- Understanding of cron jobs, systemd services, process management, MySQL administration, MongoDB replica sets, and backup strategies.
- Experience managing GitLab or GitHub repositories and configuring basic CI/CD pipelines.
- Basic Nginx configuration experience, including reverse proxying, SSL termination, and virtual hosts.
- Willingness to use AI-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and Kiro for infrastructure automation.
- Preferred exposure to EMR on EKS, Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana, DocumentDB, managed databases, Ansible, and microservices architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, teamwork, and ownership skills with eagerness to learn.
