Base Salary
$320k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and ship end-to-end billing capabilities including pricing primitives, payment flows, contract and entitlement models, and revenue data pipelines.
- Design reliable interfaces for billing APIs and Finance revenue datasets that remain maintainable under change.
- Make build-versus-buy decisions and extend third-party billing, payment, and tax platforms where appropriate.
- Own payment authorization, retry logic, processing costs, dispute response, and fraud controls.
- Automate enterprise contract amendments, pricing configuration changes, and billing support workflows.
- Operate production systems, own SLOs, instrument revenue pipelines, and respond to operational pages.
- Partner with Growth, Sales, Finance, Product, Legal, and Accounting on billing and revenue requirements.
Requirements
- 8+ years building backend or platform systems in production.
- 3+ years leading large-scale, complex projects or teams as an engineer or tech lead.
- Demonstrated ability to ship correct and maintainable systems in fast-moving environments with changing requirements.
- Strong focus on correctness, data integrity, idempotency, reconciliation, and auditability.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Product, Finance, Sales, Legal, and Accounting.
- Experience with billing, payments, subscription, or fintech systems is preferred.
- Experience integrating or extending third-party billing and payment platforms is preferred.
- Experience with revenue reconciliation, financial reporting pipelines, or audit-ready systems is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise commerce, CPQ, quote-to-cash, contract management, or B2B billing operations is preferred.
- Experience optimizing authorization rates, payment costs, fraud controls, or chargebacks in self-serve or PLG environments is preferred.
- At least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
