Base Salary
$135k - $216k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and design, develop, install, integrate, evaluate, enhance, sustain, test, validate, and troubleshoot cloud software.
- Develop Java-based distributed systems, RESTful services, object-oriented systems, and solutions integrating FOSS/COTS products.
- Build and deploy applications using AWS cloud services, AWS SDKs and APIs, Infrastructure as Code, containers, and orchestration platforms.
- Develop and support distributed data-processing and analytics solutions using MapReduce, Hadoop, HDFS, and related technologies.
- Create and implement software integration and testing plans and scripts.
- Support AI/ML capabilities involving LLMs, RAG, agents, agentic workflows, and automated analytics.
- Produce technical documentation and specifications for software development projects.
Requirements
- At least five years of directly related software development or engineering experience, including requirements analysis, development, integration, testing, maintenance, and problem resolution.
- At least four years of experience developing software with high-level languages such as Java, C, or C++.
- At least three years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems.
- At least three years of experience with software integration and testing, including test plans and test scripts.
- Experience with NoSQL products such as HBase, Accumulo, or Bigtable; MapReduce technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig; HDFS; JSON or BSON serialization; and RESTful services.
- Experience designing at least one object-oriented system, integrating and extending FOSS/COTS products, and producing technical documentation.
- Experience or coursework in at least two desired areas, including cloud deployment, big-data scalability, automated analytics, taxonomies, event-driven or data-driven analytics, linguistics, social-network analytics, ontologies, schemas, or heterogeneous schema environments.
- An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
- Must have or obtain before starting one qualifying certification: AWS Certified Developer-Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning-Associate, AWS Certified Machine Learning-Specialty, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to two years of experience.
- Preferred qualifications include LLM, agentic AI, and RAG experience; AWS architecture and SDK/API expertise; CloudFormation or Terraform; CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and observability; Java distributed systems; Linux scripting; Kubernetes; and security and compliance practices.
