Responsibilities
- Lead discovery, solution architecture, and technical strategy for scalable, secure, and resilient SaaS solutions.
- Partner with sales teams to conduct customer workshops, answer technical questions and RFPs, and lead demonstrations, prototypes, and proofs of concept.
- Design and build front-end pages, extensions, integrations, APIs, and data-driven end-user experiences on the SaaS platform.
- Promote cloud, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated deployment, observability, security, and reliability practices.
- Establish standards for maintainability, documentation, testing, security, and architecture review while applying AI tools responsibly.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor less-experienced architects, and ensure effective transition from pre-sales to implementation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive experience in software, cloud, or solution engineering, including 3+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, consulting, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
- Experience leading discovery sessions, technical workshops, executive briefings, solution presentations, and customer-facing technical engagements.
- Strong proficiency in one or more of JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Java, Python, or Go, with knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, distributed systems, and secure coding.
- Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks, back-end services, APIs, and at least one major cloud platform; multi-cloud experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented and functional design, data structures, algorithms, performance, scalability, resilience, and enterprise software trade-offs.
- Extensive experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs and integration architectures, including authentication, authorization, event-driven patterns, and enterprise connectivity.
- Working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data modeling, performance considerations, and cloud-native data services.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, deployment automation, and operational tooling; Terraform, containers, and cloud automation are preferred.
- Practical experience evaluating or applying AI-powered tools for coding, testing, automation, or solution design, with attention to security, privacy, governance, and responsible use.
- Ability to work independently, lead multiple complex workstreams, mentor colleagues, influence without direct authority, and collaborate across sales, product, engineering, and services.
- Experience with higher education systems, enterprise SaaS platforms, identity and access management, or complex SIS/ERP integrations is a plus.
