Responsibilities
- Own large, complex problems and design simple, elegant solutions
- Collaborate with product management, sales, and operations stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver technology solutions
- Help evolve the platform from a legacy monolith toward a modular monolith and event-driven systems
- Apply domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture, test-driven development, and clean code practices
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers
- Experiment with new ideas and continuously improve engineering practices
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years of software development experience
- Strong foundations in computer science, including algorithms, data structures, distributed computing, and large system design
- Strong understanding of strategic and tactical domain-driven design
- Experience with hexagonal or ports-and-adapters architecture
- Experience with object-oriented and functional programming
- Experience designing or working with event-driven architectures
- Understanding of test-driven development and agile, iterative development approaches
- Understanding of team organization and dynamics, including Conway’s Law and Team Topologies
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Ability to mentor and help less experienced engineers grow
- Collaborative approach with an appreciation for collective code ownership
- Interest in improving software development, delivery, and operations practices
