Responsibilities
- Design and build APIs that expose data products.
- Define endpoints, request/response structures, and payload formats.
- Partner with Data Engineers to consume curated datasets correctly.
- Ensure data delivered through APIs is governed and accurate.
- Work closely with downstream teams to support onboarding and resolve integration issues.
- Meet performance benchmarks and manage error handling for APIs.
- Implement authentication and data access controls.
- Version APIs and maintain clear documentation.
Requirements
- 4–8+ years in API development or integration engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, and data contract design.
- Experience with Swagger and OpenAPI specification.
- Familiarity with Azure API Gateway and Azure functions.
- Proven experience integrating with data platforms or complex backend systems.
- Solid understanding of API security patterns like OAuth 2.0.
- Comfortable working across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
