Base Salary
$131k - $164k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build an Android-based point-of-sale and restaurant operations platform used in tens of thousands of restaurants worldwide.
- Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, performance tuning, and platform scaling.
- Implement MVVM architecture and comprehensive unit and integration testing.
- Solve problems involving distributed databases, real-time syncing, message queues, distributed transactions, and peer-to-peer architecture.
- Support diverse hardware devices and build abstractions for peripherals including printers and payment terminals.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, quality assurance, and brand teams across Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut.
- Use AI development tooling while validating its output and maintaining responsibility for quality, security, and correctness.
Requirements
- BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building robust mobile software.
- Strong Android SDK fundamentals, including application lifecycle and platform behaviors.
- Strong Kotlin and modern Android development experience, including Jetpack Compose.
- Experience with software architecture, testing strategies, implementation, and deployment.
- Regular use of AI development tooling with the judgment to verify its output.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems, peer-to-peer architecture, restaurant technology, retail POS, or in-store operational systems.
- Preferred experience publishing native Android apps, using Kotlin Flow and Coroutines, or working with RxJava.
- Preferred experience with payment systems, hardware peripherals, SQL and NoSQL databases, and startup environments.
