Base Salary
$152k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build Go microservices and REST APIs using Echo.
- Build Kubernetes operators, controllers, and jobs using controller-runtime, Helm charts, CRDs, and the Kubernetes API.
- Develop services for cluster lifecycle management, application deployment, authentication, and credential brokering.
- Integrate with CCF/Taikun, Knox, cert-manager, Proxinator, AWS, and GCP APIs.
- Design database schemas, write migrations, and manage state using golang-migrate and PostgreSQL.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to system-level test infrastructure.
- Validate changes against real Kubernetes clusters and ship production code as a hands-on individual contributor.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production backend systems.
- Strong day-to-day Go proficiency with experience building and maintaining production Go services.
- Application-developer-level Kubernetes knowledge, including pods, services, deployments, CRDs, and RBAC.
- Experience building and maintaining REST APIs, including request validation, middleware, error handling, and versioning.
- Experience writing SQL, designing schemas, and managing migrations against PostgreSQL or a similar relational database.
- Ability to independently break down loosely defined problems and deliver working solutions.
- Preferred: experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers with controller-runtime or Kubebuilder.
- Preferred: experience authoring and maintaining Helm charts for complex multi-service deployments.
- Preferred: familiarity with OIDC, SAML, mTLS, SigV4, token exchange, or credential-brokering patterns.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with AWS or GCP APIs, including IAM, S3, and networking.
- Preferred: familiarity with Bazel, Make, structured logging with slog, metrics, or distributed tracing.
