Staff Software Engineer (Product + Platform Development)

Base Salary
$180k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to understand workflows, pain points, data environments, and operational constraints.
- Build reusable core-platform capabilities and customer-specific integrations, adapting and deploying solutions in customer environments.
- Build and deploy AI-enabled applications, agents, and workflow automation using RAG, guardrails, and evals.
- Translate customer needs into technical requirements, implementation plans, and product feedback.
- Own delivery from prototype through production, including architecture, backend services, APIs, integrations, observability, testing, deployment, and customer acceptance.
- Integrate with customer systems, data sources, identity providers, and cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
- Partner with product, engineering, security, and customer teams to deliver secure, reliable, auditable, and operationally useful solutions.
- Debug deployed systems and drive resolution across application, infrastructure, data, and integration layers.
- Set technical direction, make architecture decisions, write code, and raise engineering standards.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production-quality systems.
- Experience applying AI and ML techniques, including LLM-based approaches such as RAG, guardrails, and evals, to customer problems.
- Experience with scalable system design and one or more of backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, or applied AI/ML systems.
- Ability to work across backend services, frontend interfaces, infrastructure, integrations, and deployment workflows as needed.
- Ability to translate ambiguous customer requirements into working software and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong debugging, technical communication, ownership, and outcome-delivery skills across application, data, infrastructure, networking, and customer-system layers.
- Preferred experience as a full-stack or backend engineer, forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, product engineer, platform engineer, or founding/startup engineer.
- Preferred experience with AI agents, LLM applications, workflow orchestration, evals, guardrails, retrieval systems, or model deployment.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, observability, and secure deployment practices.
- Familiarity with identity and access management, audit logging, data governance, secure software delivery, and regulated or security-constrained environments.
