Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of features for complex marketplace problems.
- Build APIs and backend systems supporting the order lifecycle from supplier matching through delivery.
- Drive architectural decisions and improve the technical foundations of the platform.
- Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards within the team.
- Integrate eventing systems and scale the platform as order volume grows.
- Improve product quality through testing, observability, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with the Backend guild to establish standards and improve backend systems.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience building web applications and backend services.
- Strong proficiency in Python for designing, developing, testing, and monitoring production systems.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.
- A track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
- Experience working in an agile team with product managers and designers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with marketplace platforms or operational systems is a bonus.
- Deep understanding of event-based architectures is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Angular is a bonus.
