Responsibilities

  • Define and influence the direction of a small team using subject-matter expertise in target tracking and state estimation.
  • Architect, maintain, refactor, and evolve complex production software systems.
  • Prototype and deploy algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation.
  • Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems, simulations, and decision-support tools.
  • Design robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems for noisy and incomplete sensor data.
  • Apply software architecture and design-pattern best practices to manage technical debt.
  • Analyze system performance using simulations, modeling tools, and statistical techniques.
  • Customize algorithms and software for mission-critical customer use cases.
  • Integrate tracking and estimation technologies across requirements, testing, optimization, and production workflows.
  • Communicate technical progress and actionable insights to colleagues and end users.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or another technical field.
  • At least 2+ years working on a single codebase or product as requirements evolved.
  • Experience managing and evolving software architecture in production, including legacy-system refactoring and technical-debt management.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and maintainable, scalable systems.
  • Proficiency in algorithm design, software development, statistical modeling, Rust, and Python.
  • Strong knowledge of linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
  • Familiarity with big data pipelines, NoSQL databases, and large-scale sensor-data processing.
  • Ability to engineer systems for estimation theory, adaptive filtering, controls, and complex signal environments.
  • Experience across the lifecycle from prototyping through production optimization.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes production Rust modernization, technical leadership, concurrent and parallel Rust programming, Bayesian filtering, sensor fusion, recursive estimation, machine learning for tracking and recognition, Kalman filters, particle filters, multi-target tracking, and radar, lidar, or EO/IR signal processing.
  • Applicants are asked to provide transcripts or detailed relevant-coursework and academic-performance information.

Benefits

  • Full-time employees receive comprehensive competitive benefits available at little to no cost.
