Responsibilities
- Guide architectural decisions and engineering best practices for scalable applications.
- Drive the design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, and deployment of software solutions.
- Build scalable, resilient, cloud-based Java backend and data-processing systems.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 10–20 engineers.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, architects, product management, business owners, and technical stakeholders.
- Define product priorities and help shape future product roadmaps with senior leadership.
- Drive implementation of enhanced processes and technical solutions for strategic initiatives.
- Participate in hiring and building high-performing engineering teams.
- Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot production systems using monitoring and alerting tools.
- Guide teams on AI-assisted development, GenAI architecture, RAG, LLM integration, agentic systems, and responsible AI practices when applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 4 years of software engineering experience, or 6 years of software engineering experience.

- Experience delivering highly scalable, large-scale data-processing Java applications.
- Strong high- and low-level system design skills for data-intensive applications.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spark, with hands-on experience building Java backend systems.
- Experience with microservices architecture, distributed systems, design patterns, concurrency, garbage collection, RESTful services, data caching, ORM tools, and cloud-native development.
- Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, JUnit, Mockito, and Mock MVC.
- Experience with relational databases, OLAP and OLTP systems, complex SQL queries, NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB, and caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus and Splunk, plus debugging and troubleshooting experience.
- Exposure to Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes; knowledge of Azure, GCP, and mainframe databases is advantageous.
- Master’s degree in a related field with 2 years of software engineering experience is preferred.
- Python experience, GenAI-augmented Java/Spring Boot features, RAG and vector stores, LLM APIs, agentic frameworks, responsible AI, inference cost optimization, and AI-assisted development tools are preferred.
