Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, highly available infrastructure across AWS and GCP.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and establish team-wide IaC standards.
- Develop automation tooling and internal platforms with Python to reduce manual work.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitHub workflows.
- Monitor system performance and availability, participate in on-call rotations, and lead post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with development, security, and networking teams to evaluate and adopt cloud services and technologies.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish code-quality standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture decision records.
Requirements
- Hands-on cloud engineering experience with significant depth in AWS and working knowledge of GCP.
- Experience writing Terraform modules, managing state, enforcing policy, and reviewing infrastructure-as-code pull requests.
- Experience using GitHub for pull requests, branch strategy, Actions workflows, and repository management.
- Python is the primary scripting and automation language, with the ability to write clean, tested, and maintainable code.
- Proficiency with Linux system administration, networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls, and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience building or maintaining delivery pipelines.
- Experience architecting for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost optimization in cloud-native environments.
- Clear communication skills for explaining complex infrastructure topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet is preferred.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or CheckMK is preferred.
- Knowledge of service mesh or advanced networking patterns such as AWS Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, or GCP VPC peering is preferred.
- Experience in gaming, media, or other high-throughput, latency-sensitive industries is preferred.
- Experience with cost management tooling and FinOps practices in large AWS environments is preferred.
