Responsibilities
- Understand internal business partners’ observability needs and use cases.
- Steer managed services.
- Own the end-to-end BASF observability landscape, including infrastructure design, tooling development, CI/CD deployment, operational monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Combine observability tools across application, network, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Identify ways to generate additional value from collected system data.
- Use AI capabilities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, university degree, or university of applied sciences degree in IT or Business IT.
- At least 5 years of experience in security operations within mid- and large-sized enterprise environments.
- Broad understanding of enterprise IT landscape architectures and preferably expertise in network infrastructure.
- Experience with AWS or Azure is highly beneficial.
- Experience with Python, JavaScript, Shell scripting, GitLab, Bitbucket, and CI/CD tools.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools across APM, NPM, IT infrastructure monitoring, and log engines.
- Experience steering managed services and using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Understanding of AI concepts including LLMs, MCP Servers, agents, and skills.
- Professional English skills, strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in globally distributed and cross-functional teams.
