Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using TypeScript.
- Develop event-driven systems and message-queue solutions for reliable real-time features.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to build customer-focused solutions.
- Lead by example through high-quality code, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
- Own services end-to-end, including architecture, production monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Optimize system performance and data design using SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Use AWS and serverless architectures to build reliable, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative engineering culture.
Requirements
- Solid experience developing backend applications, ideally with TypeScript or a willingness to learn it quickly.
- Understanding of event-driven systems and queues.
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, especially AWS and serverless technologies.
- Experience with database design, optimization, and maintenance across SQL or NoSQL systems.
- Commitment to high-quality software and solving customer problems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing skills.
- A proactive mindset and ability to work effectively in ambiguity.
- Existing right to work in the UK.
