Responsibilities

  • Apply operating-system internals knowledge to detect and prevent cheating techniques
  • Develop Linux anti-cheat capabilities for Epic
  • Reverse engineer programmer cheats and other malicious software
  • Identify opportunities to improve anti-cheat systems
  • Communicate with internal and external game developers about their needs
  • Build an overall understanding of Epic’s game security systems
  • Collaborate with anti-cheat data analysts to iterate on new techniques

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of C/C++ in a security environment
  • Deep knowledge of Linux and Windows operating-system internals
  • Familiarity with development and security practices on Linux and Windows
  • Experience debugging and reverse engineering x86-64 binaries
  • Understanding of online multiplayer video game architectures
  • Experience using data analytics to solve, prevent, or monitor problems at scale
  • Understanding of code obfuscation techniques
