Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Fortnite engineering and content teams to solve technical challenges affecting stability and quality.
- Implement and improve low-level systems interfacing with mobile platform APIs, including memory allocators, file systems, input systems, graphics APIs, and shader compilers.
- Analyze and optimize load times, memory usage, and platform-specific performance issues.
- Improve platform toolchains, including compiler and linker support, device deployment, SDK upgrades, data management tools, debugger integration, and crash reporting.
- Extend and enhance the engine to support future hardware.
Requirements
- Strong programming background and C++ knowledge.
- Experience in a broad range of engineering areas for shipped games or real-time visualization systems, especially low-level code and deep optimization.
- Experience developing for Android or iOS-based systems.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles.
- Familiarity with a game engine and engine and editor concepts.
- Familiarity with development tools and profiling on modern systems, including frame capture and engine-level and platform-specific profiling.
- Experience working in a large, fast-paced codebase while balancing usability, performance, and power.
- Prior shipped projects with Unreal Engine are preferred.
