Responsibilities
- Design and maintain moderate to complex databases.
- Develop stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects.
- Ensure database performance, security, stability, reliability, and availability.
- Perform upgrades, backups, recovery, migrations, and other database administration procedures.
- Profile server resource usage and optimize database performance.
- Troubleshoot database integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocking, connectivity, and security issues.
- Support cross-platform interfaces and participate in cross-functional projects.
- Meet with business users to determine requirements and prepare documentation and specifications.
- Coordinate developer resources on assigned projects and mentor junior associates.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
- Experience developing and administering MS SQL Server 2005 and above.
- Ability to optimize large and complicated SQL statements.
- Knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics.
- Proficiency with code versioning tools.
- Knowledge of front/middle-layer technologies and/or CLR is a plus.
- MCTS, MCITP, or MVP certification is a plus.
